I went through the online registration process, but I'm not sure my payment was processed at the end. Is my team registered?
If your team is not listed, call the director (208) 784-0821 to confirm if your registration has been received and if payment is still due.
Do all team members have to be the same grade/age?
No. You can build your team, however you like. Please follow these guidelines when choosing a division. If the director believes you have selected the wrong bracket for your team, the team captain will be contacted to correct errors.
Teams found to have misrepresented player grade, age, or eligibility may have their most recent game reversed and be disqualified from all future games. No substitutions are allowed once the team has played its first game.
Can I play on more than one team?
Players in grades 3–8 may not play on more than one team in the same division. For example, a 5th grader may not play on two 5/6 teams. However, a player may play in multiple divisions (e.g., a 6th grader on a 5/6 team and a 7/8 team) if age/grade rules allow it.
Adults and high school players may play on more than one team, but we cannot control scheduling conflicts. Players doing so risk overlapping games.
Can we enter a COED team with only one member of the opposite sex?
Yes. Keep in mind, however, that COED teams must have a member of each gender on the court at all times. Therefore, on teams with three males and one female, the female would have to play the entire time, each game with no rest. If this female were to become injured or otherwise unable to play, then the entire team would be disqualified.
Can we get a sponsor for our team?
While some teams elect to recruit team sponsors to help cover the cost of registration, this is solely the responsibility of the team, as SilverHoops does not recruit or provide individual team sponsors. You or your business can receive a complimentary team entry by becoming a SilverHoops Sponsor.
Can I register online if my team is sponsored?
If your team has been sponsored by one of our "SLAM DUNK!", "3-POINT", or 'SILVER' sponsors, you are able to register online for no charge! Your sponsor should have a "sponsor code" for you to enter on your online registration form that will bring the price to $0.00. Please be aware that Sponsor Codes DO NOT eliminate late registration fees. If you register late, the $20 fee is still your responsibility.
Player Age/Grade:
Divisions Grades 3-12: Players in school-age divisions register based on the grade they will be entering in the fall of the tournament year. If a player graduated before the event, they must play in an 18+ division. It is not the responsibility of the bracketing/registration team to find errors in division choices. Please review your entry form via email; you may need to check your spam folder.
Divisions Ages 18+: In adult divisions, our software calculates a weighted average age of the team based on the ages/birthdates entered on the registration form, significant weight is given to the youngest age registered.
If you register the wrong age, gender, or player school grade information, you must contact us by replying to the registration confirmation email or using the contact us tab at the top. If errors are not discovered before the tournament bracketing is completed, your team may be disqualified from their bracket if their actual age, gender or player grade does not match the division requirements due to inaccurate registration details.
Forfeits/Disqualifications, etc:
Player/Team Disqualification: Court monitors have the authority to disqualify any player from a game, and may request a tournament disqualification at the approval of a tournament director. Tournament Directors' judgments are final and cannot be refuted. If you are disqualified from the tournament and you play on multiple teams, you are disqualified on all teams. While unlikely, players with continuous infractions of player rules or extreme transgression may be permanently banned from the tournament for life.
The same may apply to entire teams, etc.
Forfeit/Double Forfeit, etc: Teams who do not arrive by 5 minutes after the listed game time will forfeit that game. The other team will receive a 20 to 0 score in their favor. In the case of a double forfeit, where both teams do not show or are disqualified, a score of 0-0 will be entered. If a double forfeit occurs during bracket play, neither team will advance through the brackets, nor will either team be allowed to enter a consolation bracket.
Player Change/Substitutions: Player changes may be made online via the player change form at no cost until 7/19/25. After this date, player changes may be made during team check-in before your first game on Saturday for a $10 fee. Player changes made at check-in must not affect the division requirements of your current bracket (age, gender, grade etc.)
Any player substitutions made after your first game are not valid and may be grounds for disqualification if the other team reports the illegal substitution.
There are no exceptions to the player change rules.
